Castle Oaks House Hotel is a picture perfect old Georgian manor house on the banks of the River Shannon in Limerick. There are dozens of photo opportunities which make an ideal choice for weddings. Outside, the 26 acres of mature gardens and woodlands provide a stunning backdrop for outdoor shots but if the weather is unkind, there are many restored original features inside including a sweeping staircase and stained-glass windows. Formerly known as Woodlands, it is the last surviving great house around the village of Castleconnell. The waters from the local Chalybeate fountain were considered comparable to the spa wells of Germany.

Such a strong sense of history and grandeur means more and more couples are coming from abroad to tie the knot here. They join the thousands who have been choosing this Limerick castle for their special day for 30 years, making it Limerick’s premier wedding venue. Its proximity to Shannon airport make it much more convenient for an Irish wedding than the east of the country. It is also just 5 minutes from the M7 motorway. The great transport links combined with the vast experience of the hotel wedding team makes it an ideal choice. The Stradbally Suite with its parquet dance floor and picturesque garden views can accommodate up to 300 wedding guests. Only the highest grade of Tipperary Hereford Beef is served while fresh fish is supplied daily from the west coast of Clare. The self-catering lodges in the Courtyard are always popular for invited guests who often extend their day to include the increasingly popular Day Two.

The hotel is also popular as a midweek break destination for couples, Golden Age guests and those looking for a country escape on the edge of the city. The large modern leisure centre with swimming pool makes it an excellent choice for hotels in Limerick county.

There is no shortage of walks for those who prefer a stroll along the river to people who like to get their 10,000 steps in before relaxing over one of the best brunches around. The afternoon tea is also very popular with locals who come to meet friends and family at the Castle Oaks. Guests who stay often comment on how good it is and are glad to have booked it as part of their experience.

Whatever your interests, there is plenty of choice for things to do in Limerick. The city’s Hunt Museum and King John’s Castle as well as the home of Munster Rugby at Thomond Park are must-visits.

The Lough Derg Cycleway is close by as well as four golf courses. Take a picnic with you on a Killaloe River Cruise or enjoy a leisurely trip to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Castle Oaks House Hotel is also the perfect gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands.  Your home will be our castle.
