Boating
The scenic town of Killaloe is 6 miles from the hotel. Killaloe is on the shores of Lough Derg, Ireland’s main pleasure lake, & offers a wide variety of water sports. This includes boating, swimming & water skiing.

Kayaking

The hotel has easy access to the River Shannon, with shower facilities & changing rooms on site. Castleconnell Excursions looks after all kayaking tours, team building kayaking events, small groups and family trips here in Castleconnell. All equipment is provided including wetsuits and all safety equipment.

Stand Up Paddle (SUP) 

Stand Up Paddle Boarding or SUP originated in Hawaii. It is a variation of surfing. It uses large, very buoyant boards and long light-weight paddles. You stand on the board and use the paddle to propel yourself.

Because the boards are so buoyant and stable it makes the sport incredibly easy to learn. No matter what age or how physically active you are there is something in this sport for you. It is a lovely way to see the River Shannon.
